Day Camp...

I've been meaning to go around and take some pictures of Day Camp this week. It's the first week of camp, two days under our belts, and so far its been great. Camp takes over my life, but that's to be expected.

I love taking on a whole new job in the summer, its a nice change from school. I love getting the chance to be creative in ways I normally don't get to. When else in my life will I be able to paint trees and jungles and film reels amd sky divers for days on end? I've also loved coming up with the various stories we're going to tell. My brother Andrew and his story-partner, Sarah, are telling the story of Jesus miracles as Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. They do a brilliant job, and I'm pretty proud of my idea in the first place!

I'm going to take some time and write more about it this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by, even though I'm the lamest summer blogger on the planet.

I want you to be my love by Over the Rhine.

This isn't an official video. I'm not even sure where it came from, but I'm a fan. (Always.)

Nothing seems to change.

A girl I lived in residence with named Megan Walther is in South Africa right now. She just wrote this article about the kid's temper tantrums. It's good to know when I go back, not everything will have changed! It's pretty funny, and so true.

It reminds me of my first day taking care of the kids. I took them to the park and struggled to get them back home again in the midst of a fury of temper tantrums. "You're not invited to my happiest birthday party!" Ah yes, my favorite.

Skylar & Sarah's Wedding.

Sarah and Skylar got married on Friday June 1st.
It was a beautiful wedding. These are just the unofficial pictures. I can't wait to see their actual photographs since their photographer was really good. My personal favorite wedding photographer was busy being the MC for this wedding, so he didn't not have as much time to take pictures, but there are a few good shots.

It was bittersweet watching Sarah get married. She's been my closest friend for the past three years, and we've lived together for all that time, and have been fairly inseperable. It'll be strange not having her around as much. But, I'm so happy for her and Skylar, and excited for them as they start their new life together. They've been looking forward to this day for a long time, and I think it was almost perfect! Sarah was so beautiful. And the wedding was a reflection of how fun both Sarah and Skylar are. I'm so happy to know them!

Ran a Red Light.

Today I was in the United States of America (just a stone's throw from my house) with my good friends Steph and Jenn. I was driving.

Traffic lights in the states always mess with my mind. You know? The way they just hang there in the middle of the intersection? They just aren't like our Canadian lights.

Anyways, the traffic light I was approaching had turned yellow. I slowed to a stop, but something just didn't feel right. I sat there and the light was still yellow...then I realized, "Hey, it's one of those lights that is just always yellow?...or something?"

Just as a put my foot on the gas the light turned red. The signal to go had already registered in my brain and I couldn't even keep myself from driving right through the intersection!

Steph was like, "What? You just came to a complete stop and then ran that red light!"

Realizing my error I replied, "I know! I didn't know it was going to change colour like that!"

(This of course seems a lot more ridiculous spoken out loud.) Who would have thought traffic lights changed colour! From yellow and then to red?! Unheard of.

Congrats Hebron and Deanna--May 12th

My lovely friend Deanna kicked off the summer of weddings by getting married to Hebron on May 12th. It was a lot of fun, and of course Keith took some lovely photos.

I'm not sure why Sarah is so excited...Maybe cause she's next to go?
